Sam, I have an '88 H33.5 with the 2gm also. I have thought about the engine mounts as a way of reducing the vibration. I know a certain amount of vibration is going to be part of the boat. Did you use the same stock replacements? Did it do anything to smooth out the ride? Let me know. Thanks Doug

Good Vibrations

The mounts I used were genuine Yanmar replacements, about $100.00 each. I could see a diference in stiffness just shaking the engine by hand before even running it. Along with the mounts I had the prop trued, checked the prop shaft for runout, and , obviously, aligned the engine. Does it feel like a 12 cylender lamborghini? Not a chance. But it is less raucus, shakes the rigging less. It's a 2 cylender engine with inherent "shake" characteristics. The best you can do is set it up to specification and ignore the rest.
