Would like to share with all of you down south and make you feel guilty!! I live west of the Chesapeake Bay and in norther Virginia. It started snowing around Friday night late and this picture is at 12:30EST Sunday. The snow is suppose to end around 5:00am Monday morning. We already have 24" on the deck. SOMEONE GET US THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!!! Jim S/V Java

..so you won't get all that much sympathy, especially from those of us in the fifth year of drought. Besides, snow throwers are good exercise, no? OTOH, I did just get back from the boat... and it's been great sailing weather...

No Sympathy from me.

Jim, we have 9" on the ground from last Friday and what you have today is headed our way. Forecast is calling for 12+ inches (the max they will show) on top of that. Boy, this makes for a looooong winter. And my snow blower is exercise! I wish I had my pictures, but they are in the camera. Maybe we should start a photo album? But on the good side...we probably appreciate our summers more that our warm-weather friends.

Don, Great photo ! Jim, nice photo too, and it won't be long before the snow is gone and you will be back out on your new boat. Just ice and sleet here in NC. Teds Seward harbor web cam site is beautiful.

Don't feel too bad

When you all are sailin' this summer and enjoying cold beer with bushel baskets of blue crabs steamed with Old Bay seasoning, I'll be suffering. Summer sailing in central Florida is all heat, humidity, daily lightning storms and no wind. It's actually better to sail at night in the summer. I used to live in Maryland and the summers were about the same as they are here. However, it was spectacular in the fall. Peter H23 "Raven"
