From the trani's viewpoint....
I got this info from the Yanmar dealer in Seattle, MER. It all depends on the type of trani, mechanical or hydraulic.If you have a mechanical gear trani, like most of the Hunters, it can be in reverse or neutral. If it is in neutral, the lower shaft is physically disconnected from the engine. The shaft just rotates in the gear box. Since the gears are sitting in oil, so no problemIf you have hydraulic gear, then it is a big no-no, so put the trani in reverse.As for the drag or no drag issue, I will leave the topic to those of you with more knowledge on that.
