Watch the promotions

We bought ours on the Spring promotion. Got a great deal and got the following year's model, too. I highly recommend the 36. We love our it - perfect for the 2 of us and we can easily accomodate another couple or our kids. There is some dicker room but because you're buying a luxury item go for upgrades instead rather than money off. If you are able, shop more than one dealer. We bought in Annapolis, but found the dealer was competitive with Deltaville. Both operations were great.

I know about deltville thats where I got my2001 290 hunter and they were great,we did get to annapolis and spoke with them about up grading to the 36 with a great price and trade of my 290. I still have more than a year to retire to florida, closing on the house in port charlotte next week. So I have plenty of time to look and make the final decision,I have a hunter dealer on long island and another one across the sound in conn.but where ever I get the best deal will get our money, deltiville was great with price and service they wonderful people to deal with. nick

Hunter 356 Nashville,Tn
I wouldnt buy new again!!!!

I bought a new 356 in 2003 and I will never buy another new boat.It was the biggest headache and to tell you the truth,it has left a sour taste in my mouth ever since. In fact,it is so sour ,I will be selling the boat very soon. if you do buy new,Check out the dealer.Boats will always have something not right and when it is time to get it fixed is what matters. If the dealer is slow or unresponsive,it will definitely affect your attitude about the purchase and in some cases the manufacturer. I think that the 356/36 is a great boat, just make sure your support is there. If you have any questions about my experience, feel free to email me. good Luck in what ever you do!!!

Thanks Paul

I agree the dealer is a very inportant part of buying a new boat and hunter and norton's in deltaville are the best. Iam from ny and when I purchased my 290 in virginia and got to ny it had a small leak at the the hull joint, norton's called hunter and they paid the full bill to have it hauled out of the water and repaired here in ny. I will give norton's first shot when I buy again. nick

We got only a few upgrades: AC - a must on the Bay, especially in July; 3 fans, oven, fridge, bimini, and the traveler on the arch. We added a 3 blade prop this past summer. We should have had it from the start. My captain doesn't like infurling main - he wants to be able to shape the sail. One of things we both like it the less gadgets, the less that breaks. Tidewater was and is good to work with. This was our first big boat purchase and they were terrific. Joe does a super job. As with anything big - we had a "punch list" of items that needed tweeked. Big stuff: the anti-skid wasn't right was actually fixed by Hunter and those arrangements were made prior to our final walk thru. The expert came from the factory and fixed the boat at our yard. We had a main hatch leak in October and it was fixed within a couple of days. We really appreciated it because it was the week of the boat show!
