Second session cutting access to my water tank. The dremel vibrating saw was a good tool for the job, but I should have invested in few new blades. Now that the tank is fully exposed I can see foam at the front under the tank and up the sides as others have indicated. I must admit that I am don't think pulling the tank will be a walk in the park. It is a REALLY tight fit in the space.

S2 tabbed a thick piece of wood across the front that was notched to fit over the front of the tank. I just cut across the thinner portion but am thinking that the rest of it will have to come out for me to have enough room to get the tank out. I am also thinking that threading an eye bolt into the water filler may allow me to use a halyard to pull the thing up.

During breaks to let the saw cool down I also raised and furled my genoa, pumped 5 year old diesel out of my tank so I can put in fresh, refitted my engine hoses after its recent flush, cleaned the cockpit a bit with Gel-gloss and patched the small hole in my hull with some epoxy and cloth.

I left her all ready to go into the water...but I can't find my damn excise tax sticker from the town. They won't launch her without it!

Bob, what's Gel-gloss? New one to me. Got a link? Earlier last week I got my son to clean the cockpit. After he was done I told him it wouldn't need to be done for another ten years, he did such a good job! :D He actually did a great job, but he didn't realize I was kidding!!! When I saw him looking serious (like, THAT ever happens, right?), I said: "Heck, I coulda done the cockpit, but you woulda have had to do the dishes!!!" Then he finally got it. :cussing:

Having helpful crew is a wonderful thing, especially since I singlehand so much, but it was a great mini-cruise together. We celebrated his one year anniversary of graduating college. Now all he has to do is find a job!
