About to start replacing the teak cabinet facing which holds the dishes, glasses, etc. in my 31. Was wondering if anyone who's done this can save me some time figuring the best way to get it out. The shelves are ok, just the facing which has wicked up water and finally rotted at the bottom where it meets the countertop. Any help appreciated.....Gary

Cabinet Removal

I did this job on an h34 which has similiar cabinets. It is held together by lots of brass screws some of which are hidden or have difficult access. On one side when I started I removed all the teak bungs and took it apart piece by piece. The second side I was able to remove the top assembly in one large piece to get access to replace the rotten bottom board. Since I had doubts that the leaks were sealed I used cheap plywood instead of teak veneer. Most screw removal was done with a screw driver because the brass is soft and it's easy to sprip the screw heads. You'll need a good quality short phillips screw driver. Since it was only a Hunter that I didn't plan to own forever I used some 3m 5200 during assembly.
