Time to get moving...

As we get to the end of my second session with the boat, keeping it in the same slip it was in even I bought it in northern NJ, we made a big decision last week. Going to haul out in Delaware and find a new slip closer to home for next summer.

She's gotten a lot of time on the barnegat bay, the engine runs great, I'm comfortable in a bit of a blow (a lot of boat, moving up from a 23). Thursday at 1200 we'll slip the lines and head south, a quick overnight stop in the absecon inlet, and possibly run all the way to the C+D canal on Friday. Total of about 150 NM. The forecast looks promising, i have a couple crew lined up, and we're ready to go!!

Update?
Had a little bit of delay getting moving and dead into the wind coming 14miles down the barnegat bay. We tacked a while, then motored a bit. Rather than sailing the ocean overnight currently moored inside the barnegat light, and we'll be heading outside about 8-830am as the current slacks. Hoping to make or round cape may, but that's a long haul. We do have a 10-15 knots out of the north, which makes it feasible.

Thanks for the update.
Hope you make good progress tomorrow and make Cape May. That would be a day. I'm sure you know you can bail at Farley's State Marina in Atlantic City (Absecon Inlet) if necessary. Or other options.
Most of all enjoy. These trips are an adventure and rare enough. Maybe some agita, some discomfort, more expense that wanted but a good story to tell will ensue.
