I’m trying not to complain but when did all my Furuno parts time out. After a two month wait, I was lucky enough to get a GP-39 to replace the old GP-37 because of the date issue, now they tell me the AIS needs a software update through the ethernet connection. The support tech helped me with the GPS but now I have to figure out how to get the update and install it. I’m still pulling wires through the bilge for the GPS.

Well, finally got the GPS AIS problem fixed on my Furuno chart plotter. The GPS timed out a few years back so I installed the GP 39 which helped, but the AIS needed a software update and wouldn’t move from 0 lat. 0 long. I tried several ways to install the download, but the IPaddress wouldn’t connect. So I pulled the unit out and took it to a marine electronics shop. Fifteen minutes for correct download and maybe a crossover cable to connect directly into it. Now everything is working fine.
