For my Hunter 26, I have a "Tiller Stay" rudder control system. This is not the Davis Tiller Tamer. The Tiller Stay uses a stainless steel spring and friction spools that provides variable tension on yacht braid lines going to the tiller. This system works extremely well, except after 8 years, the line has broken and needs replacement. In my haste to get a replacement, I simply cut the old line away from the stainless steel spring without studying it closely to see how it was attached. If any of you that have a Tiller Stay know how the line is attached to the spring, I sure would appreciate your help. The challenge is to attach the line so it remains inside the center of the spring and not simply tied to the end of the spring. I've attempted to contact the manufacturer without any luck. Before I replace the system with the a another commercial system or any of the home-made systems, I would like to try repairing this one. Thanks, BrianW
