Tiller pilot for 1990 Hunter 27

Starting to think about projects for next year and considering a tiller pilot. I am not sure how I would actually go about installing it with the walk through transom, Anywhere I mount it would be a huge trip hazard. Has anyone mounted one on their boat?

Also wondering where people have mounted tiller tamers if I decide the autopilot isnt a good option.

The tiller pilots are very specific as to where you can mount them. 18'' forward of the rudder shaft. It's less incimbering than a tiller tamer, in that you are only using one side of the cockpit. On the Mac I had both and it hardly got in the way. On the C-27 it's almost in the middle of the starboard seat, but I wouldn't be without it.
