I recently purchased a 1973 Catalina 27 with tiller steering. There is slight "play" when turning and I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this. It appears simple to take apart, but I am concerned that the rudder will fall off (boat is in the water) if I remove the tiller to further examine. Any suggestions?
