I need a new tiller for my 1986 H23. I know west Marine and Boaters world sell a few and i can get one custom made, but does anyone know of another source? Does anyone know if the 4 common sizes that West marine carries will fit an H23? I know it is prbably too much to ask, but I'd like to go to the store tomorrow, buy one and install to sail tomorrow. david, i wouldnt be sailing until next season if i tried to make my own tiller...besides, after refinishing mine last year only to have it snap in half after a nor easter is a little disconcerning. do you know which of the 4 tillers on west marines web site might fit the h23? it might be the 2nd one from the bottom. check out the attached link... thanks brian kickin' back

Steve's right...i JUST recieved my H&L marine tiller...its gorgeous...total cost unfinished was about $65...took them a month to make...

West Marine Tillers - read the small print
I agree with David, the third or fourth tiller down look like they would work. If you look closely at the catalog you will see that these tillers ARE made by H&L, and also that other sizes are available through special order. I'd call H&L (323) 636-1718 and ask which WM tiller would fit your boat. One an off-the-shelf tillers fits, it will probably be cheaper than having one custom made. If not, you'll have to special-order the exact tiller you need. According to H&L's website, you can order a tiller either sanded smooth or with four coats of varnish. If you're in a hurry to go sailing, a varnished tiller might save you about two weeks. Good luck. Peter H23 "Raven"
