tiller extension versus tiller motor connection

I'm thinking I'm going to need a tiller extension on my 9.9 Honda or connect it to the tiller for better steering. Which way should I go? Lee

Walmart sells one for cheap. Telescopes out to a couple feet or more. Works great on our 22'.

I followed the link and looked where the poster said he got it, but I can't find the connecting rod on the WM website. Does anyone know where I can get one? Perhaps I'm searching for the wrong part name.......?

No I got the tiller extension in the picture from Walmart. They don't sell the connecting rods.

There is a manufacturer on the West Coast I think in the state of Washington or Oregon if me think I am correct that actually makes many good ones and all he needs to know is that you have a Hunter 240. It has the connecting hardware and is easy to remove and is very strong which many others are not.
