A rigging survey recently flagged an item I had not read about before. The four 5/16 bolts that secure my forestay stem to the peak of my bow (pic attached) were loose.

From the inside, getting into the tightest area of the fore peak and the nuts was a challenge. But a deep socket on an extension did fit over them.

I was surprised that three of the four bolts could be cinched up by two full turns of the phillips head from outside. Afterward, I noted butyl caulk squeezed out between the stem plate and the hull.

Just though to mention this item. I think I will no longer find the small amount of water up forward that I never could figure out the source.
