Tide App Fail

The error I reported on the app "Ebb Tide" had nothing to do with local winds and currents. The app was simply reporting a seriously wrong tide condition. For years I used a West Marine purchased Tide Watch that provided a tide prediction based on the highest tide predicted that year which you had to enter into the watch during setup. After that the watch gave a fairly accurate prediction all year. Good enough for my purposes. Then I switched to the cell phone app which worked great until yesterday. I draw 5-1/2' and we have 9' tides here. One boat length straight out from my slip the water is 1' deep at low and 10' at high. One day I observed a kayak run aground out there! The water is so murky that you often cannot see the bottom even when it is only 1 foot deep. Will try "Tides" next.

Using DeepZoom and looking at your water around the Steamboat Wharf, Hull, MA the water does get skinny quickly near the wharf .

Very convenient of NOAA to have a tide marker just north of the wharf.

Zooming out it is clear you need good local knowledge to navigate the multi currents that lead you free of the Harbor. Or I guess a powerful auxiliary.
