Thru hull fittings

I bought my 47.7 around 3 years ago. It is now 12 years old. I do not know if the previous owner ever changed the thru hull fittings, so im thinking of replacing them although they do not give me any problems or jam.( does this make sense?) I understand that there are many different manufacturers and types ( bronze, plastic, etc.) . Does anyone have any advice on what to use?

Replacing thru hulls is not a periodic maintenance item.
