I need to install a thru deck connection for coax cable (VHF antenna). I have found a 2" threaded double female fitting, however, the deck at the base of the mast is also 2". Does anyone know of a fitting that I can install which will allow me to disconnect the cable at the deck which will fit?

Fitting

Mike, I'm not sure why you want this but u could use a standard coax connector that's made to attach to the case of a radio, it has a square flange w/4 holes for screws for mounting. It has the female side for screwing on your coax but the inside connection has to be soldered which is no big deal. You would drill a hole large enough for the coax and push the end of the coax from the inside to the topside and solder and attach it to the deck. Only two things I'd watch on this, when not connected you'd need to cover to keep out the water and don't stub your toes!! I'm sure radio shack would have what u need.. Mike WD9EOU C-38 #169

Cable thru Deck

I would not recommend having a coax fitting on the deck of your boat. It will be exposed to the elements and will corrode away in no time. Why not run the cable through a gland and if you want a removable connection put it inside your boat. Don
