Thanks R.W.L. I will pull my boat on the trailer and try it regardless. I appreciate the detailed "step-by-step". I sailed yesterday and had a good look at it again, because I do not understand WHY it is leaking. And if it was the through hull that is leaking, why is it filling both bilges equally with water. Upon further inspection I noticed water at the area where the centre board pull rope comes thru the hull. I now have a suspicion that there might be a leak there. I have to clean all the water and keep an eye on it untill I see water appearing, which would only take some minutes. Would you use the same sealant for that? Thanks again, Robert

Robert,

I assume that you are asking about sealant for the centerboard tube. Is this right. If it is, I would not use sealant. Sealant is meant to be applied between two materials and not plastered on. If it is the tube, I would prep it well and Epoxy it with some reinforcement such as fiberglass matt or cloth. I explained this process to a 23 O'Day owner so it might be archived in the 23 O'Day page. r.w.landau
