If your Vega is like mine, with the single-lever control, I may be able to
help.
The first step is to remove the lever itself. This requires a metric allen
wrench, the size of which I don't recall. On the round hub that the lever
itself goes into, the allen screw is opposite the lever, which means it is on the
bottom of the hub.
Having been exposed to a salty environment for many years, you will need to
soak it for probably several days, with a good penetrating oil. Do not force
this and break it off. If you do, you are in for a lot of trouble, drilling and
probably destroying the whole thing.
Once this is removed, the rest is quite visible.
