I have a Johnson 9.9 longshaft mounted on the transom of my 1978 Hunter 27. While it's performance is a vast improvement over the "dead" Renault that was replaced by the PO, there's a problem that I'm sure someone on the list has solved. Is there any kind of throttle and shift "kit" that will allow me to set engine speed and shift gears from inside the cockpit such that I don't have to lean over the transom to regulate speed/gears while motoring or docking? Steering is via tiller. My previous boat, a Columbia 24 Contender, had remote steering/throttle/shift controls, but was as ugly as sin what with cables all over the place. I'm seeking something that will minimize the numerous contortions I have to display when I want to motor, while complimenting the appearance of the vessel! Thanks in advance . . .
