I have an O’Day 34 with an Edson mount which my throttle control lever is mounted to. The throttle control lever is covered with a red plastic like paint that is beginning to chip. I tried to remove the lever so I can repaint it but didn’t seem to want to budge. The lever has a set screw that I completely removed, however I still cannot remove the lever from the stem it’s mounted to. Does anyone know how to remove this lever? I don’t know if it has corroded onto the stem it’s mounted to or if there’s something else I need to loosen before getting the lever off.

Corrosion

Hi Tom - I had a similar difficulty with my Edson throttle lever. I squirted some anti-seize oil into the shaft at tapped with a rubber mallet. As I recall it took several applications but it eventually freed itself. Best of luck, Trevor
