Johnny Manziel won the Heisman. First time in history a true freshman has ever won it. I cannot say I know him, but I do know his family, and consider his grandfather a friend.

Do they ever give it to anyone other than a quarterback or running back. I was hoping the linebacker from Notre Dame, whose name I can't spell, would get it.

Your absolutely right dj That is supposed to be awarded to the best player in college football. But the glamour guys, running backs and quarterbacks always get it. The line backer from Notre Dame was almost an anomaly to be in the running. And I can't spell his name either.

Well I was @ the game in Tuscaloosa when Johnny 'Football' Manziel put a whoopin on then No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. He played a hell of a game that night! I think that is when he started to get noticed. He put up some good numbers this year, his freshman year, and A&M's inaugural season in the always tough SEC.
I may be biased though, I am an Aggie (Galveston) class of 1986.
And my daughter, a senior at Alabama is STILL mad at me because my AGGIES beat her Crimson Tide. LOL!
