I want the thread size for the pelican clamp on the life lines for a 1983 hunter. It's either 1/4 or 5/16

You also want to check as to whether the thread is right or left handed. Sorry can't help you with the exact size but be careful as they can change from boat to boat in the same run. Maybe buy a 1/4"and a 5/16" nut and try to be sure.

Also, on a boat that age you don't know for certain that the lifelines are original, even if they look aged. I like Ralph's idea.
