Of course 4 hrs on Ebay is an eternity and the price may shoot up in the final seconds. Even compared to Charley Cobra's deal this sound pretty good. Frank

Those pictures are three years old. The mainmast is down. The fuel tanks are not installed. With the bowsprit it is probably over 45ft.long. You can't keep it on th mooring, and if you could find a slip (not easy) it would be very expensive just to park it somewhere. But that doesn't really matter anyway, because you can't move it with no mast and no fuel tanks. This one is literally worth nothing, and there are many in a similar situation in SoCal right now. It is very expensive to own even a free boat.

A wooden hull already covered with glass by unknown workers

with unknown skills. And we talk caution to people considering a fiberglass boat of known pedigree? Okay! ;D

But at that price...

SeaTow and a boatyard with a flatbed waiting. Man... And there might be slip space in CYM Chula Vista.

WOW or WOE IS ME

This could maybe be a good boat. Assuming that you have unlimited time, and an endless supply of dollars for restoration. And you would still have a wooden hull, which means virtually never ending maint. So, do you have a place to park it for a few years, do you have the necessary time and skills for restoration, and do you have the necessary dollars. And OH YEAH, do you truly enjoy doing this kind of project, cause if you don't the probable result will be burn out, and you will be trying to unload it on the next guy who comes along.

Could be a turd or could be a beauty

this type of construction is limited in quality only by the knowledge, patience and artistic skills of the hands that put it together. Rybovich sportfishing boats are made this way. They are considered a premium product and sell for more than a fully loaded Hatteras. Sounds like this turd is too far gone for an easy polish but you never know without looking.

Even though I have a boat with glass over the wood,

unless I knew who did the job, I would pass. I knew who did the C-Flex job on Oh Joy when I bought her and did a very close inspection (with an awl) before I closed the deal. Oh Joy was in sail away condition too. Still, if she checks out, it ain't a bad

is gone to some poor soul for $2750

Sounds like that person has a lot of work ahead of them. I had a wooden boat, (sheathed in fg even) a number of years ago, and swore... never again.

Ya never know.

The buyer might've been as lucky as me and the boat's solid. Not being there, I can't say. Still, $2,700 for the boat, I'm sure the parts are worth at least that.
