Thinking about a First 305

First 305

I have found the sailing performance and generall design to be excellent.points close to the wind, easy in waves and well balanced.I sailed mine across the Atlantic single handed from the west indies to England with no major incidents. A good strong boat!

Just bought one

I just purchased a 305 1987, I have sailed it single handed and with a crew of friends, it is very responsive and has great room in the cabin.I am having new windows cut out of lexan and doing overall TLC as this one was a bank repo.I had to replace main but found out the main from a etchells 22 is the right measurement and I got a new used great sail from Bacon for 400.00.I do not know of any problem areas.I would make sure the inboard has been serviced and runs well.
