Things to do in Charleston SC

Getting ready to fly out and spend the weekend in Charleston to visit an old friend, schedules got rearranged and we have more free time down there than anticipated, so I was wondering if anyone knows of any good marine or nautical museums, tours, or similar things to do? Doesn't necessarily have to be marine related, as long as it's interesting and fun.

Ditto Kermit.. The ferry ride out to the Fort was fun and the fort itself very interesting.. Enjoyed the carrier Yorktown ... Eat at a few good restaurants FIG (food is good) is really fine .. Walk White Park and the Battery .. The Yacht Club is so, uuuuuhhhhh, exclusive that they don't admit folks from other accredited clubs .. Which usually means that you'd not like those folks anyway..

Walk along battery row.
Visit the places already listed above.
Visit the Yorktown at Patriots Point
The carriage tours of the historic houses are fun, if you like that kind of stuff.

Ditto Kermit ... especially the 'carriage rides' with a historically knowledgeable driver.
If you want 'shopping' for the 'interesting', dont miss the "market area' in the near center of town.

Patriot point also has the USS Laffey DD-724 which is a Sumner Class Destroyer of WW-II and Korean era.

Ditto on the carrage rides ....use the southern carrage ride company its very close to the old market and they tell about Charleston in a gossipy way and makes it fun as they go throught the Battrie area....Pogans Porch is a nice plase to eat as well.....
