On a nice day sail yesterday with a friend. Winds were 15 to 20 and there were only 4 sailboats on the entire lake. We were on a port beam reach heading south-southwest and a very fast J-24 was on a starboard tack heading west. We crossed paths about 100' apart and the guy in the J boat started yelling about his right of way because he was on a starboard tack. Mind you, there was no one racing and some miles of open lake and this guy was bitching because he thought he had to alter his coarse. We were never in any danger of colliding and the other two boats were at least 1/2 miles away. He was certainly correct but someone needs to learn how to chill out and enjoy a wonderful day of sailing.
