This is the first post in the thread. Where's the other 3/4?so that would be a no?![]()
That would be too easyThanks for the explanation. I couldn't help but think y'all were playing the old let's-drive-Kermit-nuts-by-creating-a-cryptic-thread game.
It was not just cheap anchor line but cheap and not even anchor line. It is simply insane the lengths some will go to in order to save a penny. The link fed to was polypropylene line something that should never be used for anchoring unless you prefer to lose your boat or your boat is a rubbery ducky raft.. Polyester or nylon are anchor rodes polypropylene is not. That saying something about a sucker born every minute keeps flashing into my mind. Tacky and of a highly uncouth nature are also true when posted on a free forum where the income to support this great free web site, did I mention free, is made from the Sailboatowners.com web store.First post has been edited significantly.
It originally suggested we start a list of where to find cheap deals on boat stuff and had a link to a cheap anchor line.
I have several sources of good stuff at lower prices I buy all the time. I just won't share them here in deference to the owners. You can all be assured I will never again post information to this site regarding items I purchase anywhere but the SBO store. I've purchased several things from the store and been very happy with the service and price. I fully appreciate the ties to this forum, and agree that it deserves our support, but there are times when it just doesn't make sense (to me) to not purchase somewhere else. all I was trying to do was provide a place for people to post things they've run across that fits in that category. it's up to you weather you agree that the item is a good deal or not, and if you don't think it is then by all means buy from the SBO store. perhaps the anchor rope wasn't the best example I could have used to get things started, but I don't think I deserved the bashing that I received from it either. How about the new nicopress tool that I recently bought for $87.00 from another source? A very similar item in the store is about $265.00. should I have bought that one instead because it supports the forum? I'm not a rich guy. maybe some of you are and it doesn't matter what things cost, but it matters to me.
As I said, any posts I may make in the future will not contain mention of prices or where items were purchased. I will not answer even if asked in a regular post. I will, however, reply to any and all PMs.
peace out,
Russ
