just acquired, where it sat for 8 years in someones yard. Pulled vinyl side covering off, leaving exposed hull fiberglass, and somesort of thin form? backing, some of which came off with the pull and some blotches remained. How do I remove the blotches, if necessary, and where do I find this "foam" that needs to go on before new vinyl.

the foam is the backing for the vinyl that was install'd by the boats manufacturer. visit a fabric store or upholstery shop and check out somthing "warmer" than vinyl for your boats interior.

on my oday 23 i pulled out mildewed wet covering and left the dry . covered with an industrial grade outdoor burber carpet runner. attached with screws and used a leather punch to punch in the crewholes in the carpet. took about 6 hrs to do the whole boat. looked great. recomend a light color with brown specks to highlight the wood in the cabin. great investment and only cost me about a hundred bucks.
