Jim,For the second year in a row I used the Island Girl products to clean and seal the hull before launch. I always have some misgivings about the results because it is so easy to apply the stuff. But waiting is the key. In a short time all the streaking and other marks disappear. The hull is sealed and ready for wax.Now comes the "rest of the story". I decided to use your superwax this year instead of Collinite or Trewax which are my waxes of choice. After reading the instructions about the wax flowing on and self-leveling with no further treatment, I began by squeezing the bottle. The wax came out very thick and it had a grainy appearance. When I applied it to the hull with a paper towel, it soon disintegrated the towel, so I went with a soft cloth. The wax wouldn't lay on easily, but I read the directions again and continued laying it on in a somewhat uniform layer. This was getting to be hard work, because the wax wouldn't flow even on a hull warmed by the sun. I completed the job and tried to buff out the product as it didn't self-polish. It smeared. I gave up for the afternoon and the following morning, tried again. It smeared. I tried using a wet cloth to get it to level out. This worked, but the wax still needed buffing. I buffed it and it wouldn't polish out to a shine. Finally I gave up on it and went around the entire hull with Trewax which cleaned up the smeared Superwax and buffed out very easily. I know that you don't intend that the wax work that way, and I'm wondering what may have gone wrong with the product. I bought it with a complete kit of Island Girl products last Spring. It did set out in an unheated space all winter, but so did all the other products and they weren't affected at all. Looking forward to your comments,Tom Ehmke
