The Ultimate Dinghy!

I would think they have all the kinks ironed out by now but they look
pretty dangerous to me. My Buisness parter and a few investors built a
few proto type models to try. I made the hardware for them. They used
Japanese aluminum hulled inflatables a 2 cylinder Rotax engine and a
standard off the shelf wing. They flew one of them and the pilot said
it was squirrelly. We made a few changes and they finally gave up on the
whole project. I think the big problem they had was to get a big enough
prop on it causing the motor to be fairly high. That had a tendency to
want to drive the bow down. The thing supposedly flew well after taking
off. Shortly after that ones built by other builders became popular. I
guess like a lot of other inventors, they just quit to soon. Being a
research and development Machinist I have seen many an inventor fail and
someone else pick up on the idea and be successful. To be an inventor a
person needs a good idea but more than that a lot of
hardheadedness.

Peter,
You amaze me at the things you come across. Definitely entertaining to watch, but I doubt I would be brave enough to go up in it.

Some boats are luckier than others and can choose to tow a dinghy that makes a pretty good boat all on it's own......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CH4wMQj_tAM&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL

When I translated the Dutch to English it said something about they were having the Vega towed because of the currents and narrow channels, although the channel they are currently in doesn't look that narrow to me.
