I am starting to look for a C42, 2 cabin Pullman. Are there any "problem" areas that I need to be aware of? Budget allows looking at fairly new boats, even new, but I'd rather find a 3-5 year old boat in good shape so I won't feel bad about replacing the sails and rigging.

moody, you've been around here for a while, so try: 1. the C42 IA website 2. chainplates, all other deck penetrating fittings, etc., which makes them no different that any other boat 3. you're right about the rigging and sails 4. find back issues of Mainsheet magazine and read the tech notes for the past ten years, - you'll learn about all the fix-its and upgrades owners have made.
