Post-Closing

The plan is a weekend shakedown beginning the day after closing on our new H380. Annapolis to Havre de Grace should be a nice ride.

Spring Cruise

I've been getting JESSEFF, our h310, ready for past couple of weekends. Couple more weekends to go, finish waxing (this time of year I wish I had a four foot boat!), paint bottom, get sails on, etc. A couple of quick daysails to check everything out. Then the big day comes the first week in May. My wife and I are taking a week long cruise to some of our favorite spots on the Chesapeake - Annapolis, Oxford, Tilghman Island... just the two of us. What a great start to the new season - can't wait!

TBA

If my boat makes it into the water by the middle of May, shake down day trips will be in store,...especially since the only water she saw last year was rain that fell on her deck. If launching doesn't happen until the end of the month, my 1st trip of the season will be crewing for a friend who's recently bought a used boat in southern New England. The plan(with a third crewman aboard) is to sail it to her new home in the Boothbay area. Details are yet to be nailed down, but the trip may also include an overnight passage. Whatever the first trip turns out to be, it'll be early enought in our sailing season to allow cold-weather gear to still be in style. Earmuffs ho!
