There was a press release on that last year. The owners of Performance Cruising decided they were ready to retire and sail full time, and made an arrangement for Hunter to pick up manufacturing of the Gemini at their plant in Alachua. No idea what became of the Telestar trimaran. I beliieve one of Hunter's first moves was the introduction of their "Design Touch" interior.

Interesting because my marina, Harbor North, is a long time Hunter dealer. And they have been a Gemini dealer for at least two years. I wonder how you can afford to own one. In our marina a cat takes two slips. Let's see, 40 times $95. times 2 slips equals ? ?

Not much different then some new monohulls

Interesting enough, the beam on the Gemini is less than the the new Beneteau Oceanis 41 or 45. I saw both at Strictly Sail and the beam on those boats are huge.

Gemini contracted with Hunter to build their(Gemini) boats to their specifications. Hunter has the facility to do that as it makes sense to give work to employees at Hunter

Pretty sure Gemini's are only about 14 feet wide. There's an excellent website maintained by a Canadian couple that are just finishing up a circumnavigation on a Gemini at www.theslapdash.com. They talk about sailing into marinas to get a berth, being told they had to pay double because they're a catamaran, and how they insist the dock manager actually come look at the boat so that they can say "Really?" while they point out that it's narrower than the monohulls on either side of it.

Gemini...

My former race boat captain just bought a used Gemini...will know more about it when he splashes it next month. Interesting that Hunter may be taking over production...

Saw one at the Toronto boat show. The beam is 14 ft and they are targeting it to fit in a single slip. On the lake here very few marinas can fit a full size cat and to one of the earlier posts, not going to get people willing to pay for 2 slips.

Overall the boat looks interesting. Had a second jib (don't recall the name of it) but it was attached to a traveller between the bows. Had never seen that before.

It has a single engine with a drive unit that you move up and down out of the water. Seemed fairly roomy altho I think the finish below could have been better. It was kind of like looking at a base model car ;-)
