Hey Rick ,Charlie your boats are sure looking good. I wish I was that close we still have to start the bottom job. Not quite sure how far I should go this year, we have some blisters and i have been sanding and painting them or other ones for years now. I find out more info here on this forum than sometimes I need to know, I am contemplating grinding and bondo but I really want to put her in. The mooring went in I think sat.I do know that were we are it was approved by the village and should be going in soon.Getting back to the bottom any input? By the by are your boats 25 or 27 ftrs.

On The Water
9 times out of 10, I step my mast (and unstep it) on the water. I just get this weird feeling trying to lower the mast when I'm that much higher up. Probably all emotion and no logic, but it works for me.

mast step
I have the boat hauled and then we have the yard step and dock tune the mast. We set the sails up, they have left us with a pull line for the roller firler jib and we haul that up as well.And off we go!

Not me
We spent a week on Kentucky Lake and brought the boat home to be launched at Lake Michigan. As I was backing it down the ramp my helper asked if ot was supposed to be making a cracking noise.Well the rudder hit the ground and got wedged under the boat.The transom cracked for about a foot .I couldn't get the boat back on the trailer or off it completely.It took awhile but we finally got it off.It is now at the only marina that can fix it.Ouch.

Is suppose to be delivered today. Not a problem to step in or out of the water. Been working on the house this weekend mostly. Getting better!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first step
This is our first year withthe 25. The yard guy says we should have him step the mast, but I have a 6ft 200 lb Linebacker son who can help me step it. Is the yard guy hosen me or can my son and I do the step job. If its feasible, I'd like to try it so we can learn as we go. Comments?? Thanks and we're looking forward to our second Oday.

Stepping Help
My wife and I step our mast, and can do it without help. However, we use a gin pole that I made, and that helps. Before we had that, usually found one or two passerby's to give us a hand. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have the yard guy help you out the first time, so you can have some experienced help. But, I'd say make sure he lets you participate so you know what to do in the future.

Thanks for the support. I think we will be fine. I already figured on creating some sort of gin pole,arm extender for our task. Should work out fine. We have lots of time. Thanks again, I'm sure I'll have more questions as we go.
