I used to get a fist sized piece of dry ice and throw it in the bottom. Sure helped the electrical power drain from refrigeration. And.. I always had a good time complaining about frozen beer. I would pop out the companionway complaining and the adjacent boats heads would turn...I would think that for for some long term cruising in remote coastal islands, some dry ice might be beneficial for keeping fresh produce. I'm contemplating it for our trip to Broughtons this summer. Assuming, I can find it in various places....
