Last year we saw Brunswick Corp purchase Navico, the marine electronics company that had earlier purchased C-Maps, which was Jeppsen Maps.

Earlier Garmin purchased VesperMarine, Active Captain, and Navionics charting company among others.

And now, Teledyne who own Raymarine has purchased ChartWorld.

It appears Furuno remains the only major independent marine electronics company.

That is too bad.

BTW: I have my eye on the Furuno 1st watch wireless to iSO radar system.

No wires = no corroded terminals to keep an eye on... and instal is easy peasy

Wireless is wonderful. Relatively easy to install.

Will the system work reliably if the sxxt hits the fan?

Do you like the data/content provided? Are the controls easy to use? Does the display provide an intuitive interface that meets your requirements?

These are vastly more important in my thinking than cutting edge wireless connectivity.
