Jim, about the chain piling up and blocking the hawse pipe. I glassed in a piece of 3/8" plywood, about 6" wide by 4' in length. I beveled the edges to get a good fit up there on the keel. It runs like a sliding board from high up in the bow to the bottom aft end of the chain locker. Even with that I sometimes have to go down and help it, usually when I have lots of chain out. It would have been better to have angled my pipe more aft. The keel in the bow is so sharp that without my sliding board the chain would just jam down there.
