To All you seafaring folk out there Help. In 2009 we are looking to do the ARC and now we are in the looking mode to purchase a boat to do the trip and more. We have lots of sailing hrs and experience yachtmaster ocean. But thats not our problem finding the boat is ,they may be lots of you out there who have been on this adventure and have taken notes on how the different boats behaved or not this is the information im looking at. We are looking at ft=45 60, wide beam, deep keel. heavy, more living than crew space ie 3 cabin max, comfortable,Transomdoor,Furling main & genoa,ect, ect. which one?

I'd think if you check out the European builders, you'd find something you'd like. Much depends on budget. If I had my druthers, I think I'd seriously look at a catamaran.

Can't go wrong with a Swan

Check the notes and stories from Offshore Passage Opportunities on the website. I was on a older small Swan in some rough weather for the Annapolis Boat Show cruise back in '05. It made a believer out of me.

Also, Cheoy Lee boats are well built

and maybe just a notch below a Swan which is the Rolls Royce of sailboats.
