received the check and a burgee today and i went shopping for some boat parts. picked out some things to replace some i had lost and put a ashopping list to chris frost at down wind.
i appreciate your support very much and i hope you will come sailing with me as i get to places on my way. we should be leaving here in mid march, hopefully. the shaft tube epic turning out to be not much problem, as the tube we are finding is made of stainless steel instead of bronze.
thankyou for the support --i will fly this burgee when i am in port at anchor-- see it-- come on over.....

Yeah, if you mean the Vinoy Basin,

the bottom's a bit soupy over there and a stiff east breeze turns it into a washing machine. Plus, it's become a place to park and abandon unloved boats.

I live across the street on the south side of the pier.

Depending on length of stay I bet we can find you a better spot.

i understand there are other anchorages there-- used manatee river the last few times there-- was good holding-- fair fishing-- i caught flounder there and, of course, catfish...
found running lights llast nite and some hinges and other needed goods and replacing missing items--- found a garmin 498 gps on ebay-- keep fingers crossed for that one... searching high and low, far and wide for replacements -- trying to find good deals for the maximizing of my resources... thankyou guys for making this replacement possible.

What's the planned route? Getting up toward the Northeast during your trip?

would love to be able to handle going north-- but i do need to move into warmer waters--first real stop is scheduled to be mazatlan-- after that, is all up in the air--or , set in liquid jello, and open for changes and redirecting,as long as warm water is goal..
may feel a need to meet unmet cousins i like to chat with on north east coast-- but it HAS to be in summer.

Great holding. We've ridden out some pretty radical stuff there on the hook and never had a problem, well, other than crapping my pants.

Problem is, everybody crowds in at the 'holy hole' (where the cross is) because that's where the anchor symbol is in most guides.

Not for us thanks.

The north side has lots of room but has you doing that whole wind vs. current thing.

Nah, don't like that either.

We know a couple spots that eliminate both those problems. Let me know if you're in the area or e-mail me and I can give you some lat/lon's. As usual, a lot depends on your draft.

Well if you end up NJ way, get in touch and we'd be happy to show you a good time at Farley State C-Dock.

If not, we'll have a few in your honor.

Headed for warm water in a few yesrs ourselves!
