Well, we've gone nearly ten years without having serious spam attacks on the boards... until this week. Spam is a fairly simple problem to eliminate on boards that require registration, but that's something we'd like to avoid. Barring a registration requirement we have to come up with more creative ways to block this junk. We had hoped to make the security changes in a way that would be invisible to you, but it's caused a couple of modest bugs today. If you are experiencing weird behavior on the site the fastest way to get our attention is to use the 'Suggestion or Bug Report' link found on every forum menu. Please describe what happened, where it happened, and any error messages you received. I suspect we'll have all these nagging little issues cleaned up by tomorrow morning. Thanks for your support!

working fine today!

great boards, I'll put up with any little snafus that come along with no complaints, and as I've noticed before, the rare breaks are fixed very quickly here. Ken.

I saw some "crap"*

* "continuous random amplitudinal perturbations" That is a rather old term from my days in the electronic shop when the engineers would look at a display on an oscilloscope and say," What is this crap?" This was the answer that we would give them.

Nigerian Spammers

Phil, You have captivated many keen sailors around the world and enabled them to feed their ocean addiction and keep connected to each other. Keep up the good work and keep those spamming pricks at bay! Most of them are probably in Nigeria the home of the multi-million dollar email dream. Peter S/V Tula Beneteau 390

The drop down menu under forums is gone.

...the one on the home page that allows you to select posts from the past 24hrs, 2 day, 3 day, catalina only, etc. or is that just a change from your side. I liked that menu a lot, because I don't check the board every day.

I have "won" three opportunities to rescue

money from Nigeria, Two British lotteries and one Canadian lottery. It is so wonderful that they know me so ell that they address me as dear sir or madame. How can I resist?

got a new one

got one yesterday from a girl in Africa that wanted me to adopt her. She is 23, or so the email said. The funny part is, it was from Lovesail, a Brit place to meet other sailing singles. In other words, it had nothing to do with meeting anyone and was clearlt spam, but the moderator missed it. So anyone else get one of these?

I am feeling left out

I have not gotten any of these things. I wonder if I have offended the spammers. If not, I would like to at least have a chance...
