I was gone for a few weeks, and catching up on this site, I read Ross' post about good weather info. He listed Donna Lange's blog. I spent a couple of hours reading it all, and part way through realized how much I enjoy reading these things. I also read and enjoyed Rick Sylvesters blog (Anthem).

Used to not know what a "blog" was, now really enjoy it. Feels like a sailing school sometimes because the authors are writing in the moment. Sometimes the details are lost after the fact.

Am I in the minority in my enjoyment?

The hurricanes this season demonstate the difficulty of

long range forecasting. Lyn and Larry Pardey in their first Atlantic crossing noted the developement of long period swells and allowed that they indicated a storm center perpendicular to the swell. Larry knew the Atlantic storms moved from south west to north east so he set a course to the north west to let the storm pass to his south and it did. They did not have to sail in storm conditions as a result.
Hurricane Hanna is defying the forecaster by just wandering around like a drunk.
