We lost a batten from our new Hunter 240. I sent an email to Doyle asking how to replace it. They promptly sent us a new set of all 4 battens for no payment. Thanks!

Wondering if ?

I wonder if Doyle would do that for 7 year old sails. Gee, we must have lost 3 or 4 sets by now. Ken S/V Wouff Hong

Me too!

This should have been brought up before although I might have missed it. Make sure to check the batten straps when or before raising the main. One time I didn't and the batten flew out of the sail like a spear. I lost the large main batten also, but I had to pay for it and they sent me the wrong width the first time. They did respond very fast and service was good just a little wrong.

Just replaced two of mine

One disappeared and the other one broke (but nobody knows how). I don't know how much they cost from Doyle, but West Marine sells batten stock for about a buck a foot. I bought extra.

Silly

Silly, the BATTON EllF gets them,I have a 1995 H 26 ,the fix is to drill and sew them in to the sail

sail tape

A much easier and less invasive fix is to cover the opening with sail tape.

secure them

Yes, I do intend to secure them before next season (spring time). I thought of drilling a small hole in the end of the batten with my dremel and secure it through the hole with some thread or maybe a wire of some kind.
