Thanks for all your imput to date. I predict this will be an over active forum. Question: Need to reinforce/strengthen cockpit sole (has a plywood core) because of voids (dry crunching sound) in laminate and some bounce to the floor. ( Exploratory test shows core is dry) Would like to do work from underside above engine. Have nighmeres of epoxy dripping all over the place and cloth sloughing off. What about wetting out some cloth and some thickened epoxy on an aluminum plate and then temporarily bolting to underside of cockpit floor to cure? I figure I will still have to drill and inject from the topside to fill the voids and the plate would assist in not drilling through. Cockpit looks good, just some spider cracks, so I want to avoid tearing off the top skin in the cockpit. Prior repairs were made to underside of floor and I think this created some of the voids.

reinforcing cockpit sole

I'm not sure that adding a layer or two of glass to the bottom of the sole will achieve what you're wanting to accomplish because if the laminate skin is not bonded to the core. I have a few questions I'd like to ask you to try and develope a reasonable repair scheme so if you could call me sometime next week (866-937-8797 toll free)we can discuss it.
