Thanks to all for the responses on my Cherubini hull question. In my quest for a Cherubini, I've run into a lot of dealers that don't know the boat. Are all 37' Cutters Cherubini's? Are there other 37's that he designed? What are some other distinguishing aspects of the Cherubini 37' just in case the dealer doesn't understand? What is the standard draft on these and did they produce other configurations? All input will be appreciated. Thanks

Onl one.

As far as I know Hunter only ever built one cutter and it was designed by John Cherubini Sr(with some help from Jr). See the Related Link for spec, pictures, and owner reviews. See the current Photo Forum for some new line drawings courtesy of Sanders Lamont. And check the Rainbow Chaser site, especially "Upgrades and Repairs", thanks to Gene Greunder: http://www.geocities.com/TheTropics/Cabana/7414/index.html There is a very nice 1983 in my marina. See: http://www.harbornorth.com/, then "Boats for Sale".

Check the year

The specs suggested by Ed will probably answer all your questions, but be aware there are newer Hunter 37s that are not Cherubini designs(newer models), and there are Cherubini designed-and-built custom boats (generally larger) not made by Hunter. They are rare, elegant and pricey. I think they are 40-ft-plus schooners and ketches, with cutter rigs. But if you find a Hunter-built 37 cutter from between 1979 and 1985, it will almost certainly be a Cherubini design. Standard draft is 5'6" and there was a shoal draft version around 4'.... Clues: check the cabinet in the galley above the stove. If it is a long drop-down teak/holly(?) closure that doubles as a shelf, that would be a clue, along with the full shower styarboard just forward of the head. No sliding plastic in the Cherubinis. Good luck looking... Sanders s/s Good News Sacramento
