The last time I fueled up the boat I think the price of Diesel was around $2.75 and I probably still got 3/4 of a tank.
In that case, you probably have a tank bottom covered with crud that is going to stir up and clog your filter the next time you need the engine in rough water. I suggest a search for threads on tank and fuel polishing.

Yes the fuel mileage is great with the little diesel in a sailboat, but a new sail for my boat is $3000-$5000. Powerboaters don't need to purchase sails. It sort of balances out... boating is expensive and we do it 'cause we love it.
Wow. And I stop bidding when the price of the headsail I'm looking at gets over $150 on ebay. I think the used mainsail I bought from a loft was under $250. White trash, I guess. :neutral:
