Glad to hear Texas is finally getting some rain. Hope it's enough to get you floating again and put out the fires.

Saw a blurb on the Weather Channel yesterday, they made it sound as if it would relieve some of the drought. When I just looked at the map it shows a few showers on the Gulf Coast.
Sorry, I hope you get some rain soon.

Relief is finally here....after the most brutal summer ever recorded in North Texas....temps are dropping and cool Fall air is starting to come in. We're even seeing a little rain!

As far as rain goes....we're so dry and depleted the only thing that will break the drought is a tropical system parking itself on us for a few days and dumping 15" of rain....or what we really need, is 2 good weeks of slow, steady rain....one of those soakers with plenty of runoff to refill the lakes.

I'm just dang happy those 110 degree furnace days are behind us. Some rain just passed through and it's 82 on my patio right now!

I see posts about the yanks starting to pull their boats for the winter, or getting ready to in the next month or so. Our great sailing weather is just now starting to arrive! Breezy, mid 80's during the day and mid 60's at night...oh yeah! Weekends aboard, here we come....

Rain but still dry?

We got 2/10ths" of rain on Friday, 2/10ths" of rain Sunday afternoon and then the big storm hit Sunday night. We got 2" last night with 70mph winds. But, you go out in the yard and it does not look like we have had any measureable amout. the ground is so dry it soaks up any rain that we get. Last year if I got 2" of rain I would have water running in the ditches.

But, we still tahnk Jesus for what we get and know the weather pattern has changed. Our lakes will be low for a long time until we can get the slow extended rains we need.
