Test for bad Electronics Module vs Compressor

My Model DCM-12 Serial # 19216 compressor and fan have stopped cycling on. I have replaced the thermostat to eliminate that. I have verified voltage at between 11.84 and 12.14, most consistently at the higher reading. I could buy a new Electronics Module at $250 but if the module doesn't solve the problem, I will have spent money that should have gone toward the compressor. Question, is there any additional test an owner can do to determine definitively whether the fault is the module or the compressor?
