I tried removing the wooden trim around the inside of the windows on my H23 so I could refinish them. I removed all the interior screws, but the trim still would not budge. Does the screws on the outside of the window (that hold the plexiglass in) go through and also screw to this interior wood trim? I wouldn’t think that it would. Did I just not pry hard enough? I pried hard enough I was worried about breaking something. Did Hunter bond them in some way (in addition to the screws?) Thanks James

James, it is probably caulked!

James: You may want to try prying it up with a putty knife. There may be some caulking holding the trim in place.

Interior trim

I have had mine off when I replaced the glass, I do not remember whether the exterior screws go into the interior trim > If I remember correctly the exterior screws are fairly long so they might go into the interior trim > What I do know is that you will find the black caulk / bedding compound that holds the plexiglass in place . Replacing the ports was one of messiest jobs I have done to the boat. Were it me before I started prying I would at least remove the exterior screws unless some one tells you positively not to . I would then be very careful because when I replaced my ports I slightly overtightened one of them and cracked the new one I had just installed . Take it slow and easy , good luck . Mike

Just four screws each

It sounds like some extra caulking may be holding the frame in. Take your time and you should be able to pry it free. Be careful at the corners, as the frame is held together with some fine wire brads that are probably rusted by now. Good luck. Peter H23 "Raven"
