Teak Oil or Cetol

Just sanded all my teak (I have lots) down to 320 -- nice & blonde -- now should I oil it oruse cetol -- or something else?

Teak

I've been using Teak oil for years and by the middle of the season, my Teak didn't look any better than if I never used anything at all. I've been hearing a lot of good reports on Cetol but have never used it. Maybe I'll give it a try.

Cetol

Try the new Cetol -- can't think of the name of it (Natural Teak?) -- it isn't as orange as the original Cetol. I put it on my O'Day 302 last fall -- it really looks good.

Try Bristol

Pesonally I like Bristol Finish, it doesn't have that fake,stained look that Cetrol has. I removed all the Cetrol from all exterior teak on my O'day 26 and used the first two parts of the three part cleaner then applied the the Bristol finsh you can see the grain/pattern of the wood and the finish is shinny and looks wet even after a year ..

I've always used the clear Cetol...

It lasts for many seasons with minimal maintenance. It has been four years since I last did my teak and I'm stripping for re-finishing this spring.Cheers,Bob

no need to strip

with the Bristol I don't have to strip it ever. just a light sand,wipe down, reapply, done 4 more years..
